Windy City Produce - Your Neighborhood Gem for Fresh and Friendly Grocery Needs

Windy City Produce is hands down one of the best produce spots around. The fruits and vegetables are always incredibly fresh and very affordable. The staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming every time I stop in. I’ve honestly never seen avocados and mangoes this big anywhere else — seriously impressive quality. If you’re looking for great prices, amazing produce, and a pleasant shopping experience, this place is a must-visit.

We have been going here for over 30 years and I always appreciate the quality and variety of their produce and the way they respond to the needs of the neighborhood over time. They've had such wonderful staff over the years and I know neighbors really appreciate them! Their butcher counter now offers great service and their prepared foods are such a convenient option, from hot meals to cold cuts and salads and fresh made salsas. I remember long before the most recent upgrade when there were barrels of pickles and sauerkraut out. Now we look forward to getting tamales before they sell out for the day. The carnitas are always delicious too, I would rather buy them prepared there than try to make them myself. I like discovering new things in the pantry section, they fit a lot in a few aisles! For example, we had searched across several grocery stores for the Tadin tea that helps an older friend with respiratory problems more than anything else. I was a little concerned when I didn't see it on the shelf in the usual space the last time I came through, but then I turned around and I had a whole end cap with a wide variety of herbal teas from that brand and others. Looking forward to trying more soon!

Staff here is incredible! It is a small spot but they have everything. Butcher counter. Deli counter. Homemade desserts. Produce section with in season items.

Great for produce!! Lots of Latino food products. Fresh meat cut by butchers. Free parking. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Crowded on weekends.

It’s my favorite store in the area. They have very fresh produce. They’re busy, so that leaves no time for things to get old. Carnitas and arroz con gandules are among the best! It’s also very affordable. I do wish they had a bit more space for shopping carts.

I noticed an employee providing guidance to a shopper on how to pick a ripe papaya, which is a level of service you don’t see often. It was even a busy time in the store but this employee assisted with a smile on his face. Also, the produce selection and quality is fantastic!

Small and you'll see what I mean ..but they mean business here. Mighty small giant everything you would need to throw a party especially baby arrachera...no tenderize machine needed.cleaned and open you do the rest !!!

They usually have fantastic avocados, papaya, and other fruits and veggies. The meats seem very popular, but I haven’t bought any. This place is on my way home from work, so I usually stop in a few times per month. Prices are good and staff is friendly.
